A lil’ bit of leopard

As I was browsing the internet late one night and collecting images to use as inspiration I found myself constantly drawn to a few particular images. These images all included a lil’ bit of leopard.

I love accessories that have been inspired by the beautiful print of leopard fur. I wouldn’t recommend wearing too much of the print as it may appeal overwhelming, however a subtle touch can make an outfit edgy. Whether it’s wearing leopard shoes or belt to add some detail to a plain outfit or wearing a leopard clutch to add some detail to your block coloured outfit, overall this browns and black combination seem to go with any colour and really seem to bring an outfit all together.

These items from tumblr have inspired this post and the following items are a few things you can pick up from current collections that I love.

1) Ksubi

2) Witchery

3) Wanted
Kat Maconie

4) Prism

5) Wanted

Fashion, Wish List

Hello there friends,

I was very excited when Spring came out and a lot of the collections of my favourite stores were featuring black & white. I wear a lot of b&w as it’s probably the easiest colour to wear and it always looks good. A lot of people can think it’s rather depressing to have the majority of your wardrobe black and white, however if you introduce some interesting patterns, opposed to block colours you can still maintain a unique and trendy look and can always accessorise with some colour.

Having a little bit of texture to your outfit can go a long way, redefining your outfit from dull to dynamic.

Here are a few of my favourite things out there at the moment, with a few things to add some spice to your outfit –

So, just recently I purchased my first Camilla. It’s a playful, flirty jumpsuit which I absolutely adore. At first I was skeptical to spend such money on just one dress (considering I am only a student.) However, from hearing feed back from other Camilla lovers, my purchase felt more like an investment. Even with one girl mentioning that she wanted to keep her Camilla for her own child to have.

Those stunning, colourful, delicate pieces that almost resemble an art form of some kind, are perfect for summer and will suit nearly every body shape. I find the camilla pieces are not just about wearing a timeless statement outfit, but it’s about the way the dress makes you feel as the soft fabric gently sits on your skin and the intricate detailing of the design gives the items a touch of luxury.

I fall more and more in love with Camilla and since purchasing mine I have realised 1 thing. Every girl deserves at least 1 Camilla dress.

Here are a few of my favourites. Which one is yours?

Favourite four eats in Melbourne

1) Oriental tea house – Chapel street

Usually when you’re travelling you try as many different places as possible, yet I found myself coming back for more on my last night for more. I just could’t get enough. The oriental tea house does yum cha in the day, and continues in a similar fashion at night where you still order lots of small dishes to share, rather than one big meal.

It won’t be a cheap meal, but the unique flavoursome dishes are definitely worth it. Furthermore, you have a wide selection of tea to accompany your meal which are simply divine. I could not talk higher of this place!

2) Shanghai Village dumpling house – Little Bourke street

This three story dumpling house serves the best dumplings around Melbourne. When given a menu of such a wide variety of dumplings it can be a little over whelming. However, with the prices being so cheap ($5 or so for about 6-12 dumplings) you can afford to go all out. The service may not be the best, but it’s quick and awesome dumplings definitely make up for it.

Not only do i recommend this place for it’s amazing dumplings, but also because for it’s atmosphere. The place is absolutely packed (which is always a good sign) and you usually end up sharing a table with about 6 other randoms. If you feel uncomfortable with that, it’s best to go with a large group of people.

3) Donnini’s Italian restaurant – Lygon Street
I recommended Donnini’s italian restaurant because it’s the particular one i choose too to go, however any Italian restaurant along Lygon street is just as good as the other. Lygon street, also known as little italy, is about a twenty minute walk away from the main CBD but definitely worth going too. I spent an afternoon there browsing the shops and having an fantastic lunch there.

I love anything italian … pizza, pasta and shoes !! I was heaven in this restaurant. The pasta was home made and the banter between the staff in Italian really made you feel like you could be in Italy.

4) Any cafe along side street.
This cute and cool lane way is always buzzing and it’s definitely worth checking out here whether it’s for a quick coffee or for a easy lunch as you will never get disappointed. Each cafe, if you can tell them apart, all have their own you little quirks to them but all sell pretty similar cafe food. However, the food always taste amazing and the service is exceptionally, unless you don’t like to be spoken too. The waiters are always striking up a conversation recommending food or locations (which helps if you’re not from around there.) and the buzzing atmosphere makes you feel like you’re part of the Melbourne crowd.

My shopping bag from Melbourne

I went down to Melbourne for two weeks during my university break. As anyone who has been to Melbourne would known the three best things to do in Melbourne are –

1) Eat and Drink
2) Shop, Shop, Shop and more shopping!
3) Check out any current exhibitions down there (I was incredibly lucky to see the Monet exhibition!!!)

I decided to show you guys a few of my favourite things that I got down there.

1) Witchery Sunglasses – These guys are great! They are black and elegant and remind of Audrey Hepburn’s fantastic glasses (if only I have her facial structure!)

2) Witchery ring – This little number sits comfortably on my finger most days now, as it’s simple yet with the chain detailing it creates a very appealing accessory

3) Witchery purse – This black item fits perfectly into my every day, I put my essentials (neurofen, lipstick, papaw etc) in it and keep it in my bag. It’s fantastic because it keeps all those items separate from everything else (books, iPad, phone…. food)

4) Strawberry and cream tea from the oriental tea house – This tea is very sweet (just the way I like it) but you can also have it hot or cold. I like to prepare it and then let it cool over night then drink it through out the day adding a bit of favour to my water (it’s sugar and fat free too)

5) Black and white sports girl top – Well how can you go wrong with navy and white stripes…

6) Black Winsdor Smith boots – Because in winter everyone needs a good pair of boots and these ones also come with a bit of a heel which means i can dress them up, or just wear them casually

Mirror, Mirror

‘Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, why can’t I be the most beautiful of them all,’ we all exclaim at some point whilst putting our make up on. Whether you’ve done the practice run a few days earlier but now can’t seem to get it spot on for the real event, or a look you had in mind just doesn’t materialise as you thought, you should remember that you should be taking care of your skin on a daily bases. A lot of us are in the habit of removing our make-up before bed time, but that’s as good as it goes.

Our face is like a canvas, which we then paint on our own we make up. So, we need to make sure that our canvas is at it’s best when we need to look our best. I have devised a list of five simples yet effective ways to improve your look.

1) Bio Oil – Instead of using moisturisers on my face, I use Bio Oil. Not only does it substitute as a moisturisesr, but also helps with uneven skin tone, dehydrated skin, scars, sketch marks as well as ageing skin. I apply it in the morning and in the evening before I go to bed.

Another benefit of Bio Oil it’s affordable.

I recommend checking out there website to try as it’s definitely worthwhile – http://www.bio-oil.com/en-us/

2) Aesop Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil – My key word here is ‘cleansing.’ I recommend this particular one is because it is a gentle cleanser so you can use it every day on your skin and when activated with water it effectively removes any grimes as well as make-up.

Having a both a cleanser and make-up remover in one, whether it’s Aesop or another brand, will benefit your skin as you’re using less chemicals on your face, especially cleaners and removers as they tend to dry out your skin and eliminate your natural oils.

3) MAC Studio moisturisers tint with SPF 15 – Once again, this product is something that you can use any brand in but the idea is to use a tinted moisturiser, rather than foundation as it provides enough coverage to even out your skin tone, but doesn’t dry out your skin.

Furthermore, applying SPF every day on your skin now will not only make sure you’re not looking red like a tomato for your big event next week, but keep your skin looking younger for longer.

Check on my favourite tinted moisturiser with SPF 15 – http://www.maccosmetics.com.au/product/shaded/178/1695/index.tmpl

4) Lucas’s Papaw Ointment – This little product has been everyone’s friend for years. With so many uses and applications, such as moisturises your lips, applying to your sunburn or to your wounds, it is always handy to have a Lucas’s Papaw Ointment handy.

If you want to know more, this is their website – http://www.lucaspapaw.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1

5) Water! Water! Water! I know everyone says this and you’re probably all sick of hearing of it. However, if you drink water not only does it hydrate your skin, it’s also makes you feel better. I find that if i drink water on a regular bases I am not as tired, I am not as hungry and furthermore I’m usually more activate.

However, if you’re someone like me and loves to drink something sweet and often find water boring I find drinking tea is a great way of making sure I drink enough water through out the day whilst also having a bit of flavour to my drink.
